haha I do still like mcr a little but more so because they are getting happier in lyrical writing, and did Gerard seriously reverse age he looks like a teenage girl. But used to be a little obsessed brat though, glad that phase is over

I used to be obsessed from the ages of 13-16, since then I have always still liked them but not listened to them as much. Then Danger Days came out and I was reminded how good they are. I disagree they 'sold out' or whatever, you have to be a big fan to understand I guess, but honestly the warmth and humility they give to the fans is amazing. Being at an MCR show is like being surrounded by thousands of friends even if you have never met a single person there. You can tell that the band are genuinely nice people. That's why it annoys me when they get hate. Being a fan has given me some amazing times just because of the love you feel from every other fan you meet, and the energy they give when they play live.. So far I have seen them seven times, and I was at the shoot of their latest video, which was a tiny concert for fans only. They even played extra songs just to say thanks, and interacted with the crowd all through the show. It was really something special.
If you strip away all the crap/media drama they had surrounding them, they're just a rock band.. and whether you enjoy the music or not, they are talented musicians who have a surprisingly diverse back catalogue of songs. Not all their fans are 13 year olds who think they're hardcore (especially since the Black Parade hype is over), and even the ones that are, you can't blame people for being young, and it isn't the band's fault.
Haha, semi-rant over, their new album concept is so fun too. It's bright and colourful and when they play the new songs the atmosphere is so full of energy. (:

true 'Danger Days' is pretty fun.

I really enjoyed listening to I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love and the black parade and I dont mind listening to cheers every now and then.

Danger days has some good songs but overall it sounds too happy. If I want to listen to music that isnt depressive I can pick a song by ke$ha or whatever pop artist, they used to make music that was different to that kind of singers.

I guess the black parade is truly dead after all.

Having said that I recently started with the umbrella academy comics and I´ve found them very enjoyable.

As an aside they were already succesfull when they released the black parade(it sold 1,610,000 copies on less than a year only in the us)so I cant understand why they decided to make such a strong change.

If thats the case I hope that they follow a similar route to panic at the disco and go back to their old stuff on their next album.

I can understand it when a band decides to try something different and splits up/takes a break to try new things (even what pete wentz is doing) but releasing something under the same band that has nothing in common with their previous works is beyond me though Im aware that penty of bands are doing it/have done it in the past.

For example taylor swift(probably not the best example out there but its the one that springs to mind) has gotten tired of singing about love all the time, she didnt release an album that had nothing in common with her previous works, she made a few songs that were different and released an album with songs similar to her previous works and a couple of songs that were different to show that she can also sing about other things.
