My son is 5 have down syndrome ( newly diagnosed with autism). I don't want to go into deep details but I mistakenly got myself pregnant again. It is extremely early in the pregnancy. What are the possibilities of haven't two kids with same disabilities?
Do anyone here have more then one special needs child? How do it effect the whole family?

Its best if you ask your Dr to send you for genetic counselling, as there are specialists who can talk through your worries about having another disabled child and who know properly all the odds ratios of how likely it will be. You could always opt for the tests that let you know if your child has downs syndrome again.

My eldest child has autism (and PDA) and my younger child has aspergers, I expect any other children I had would likely have some sort of autisitic spectrum condition as there seems to be a lot of it in my family. However that doesnt mean you will, i know lots of people who only have one ASD child amongst several, and others who only their boy children have ASD.

I find it hard work having children with special needs but very enjoyable also, I would quite happily have more. I think its fairly easy to find extra emotional resourses to cope as children are so easy to love.

So ask your GP/DR to refer you for genetic counselling.

From what I've noticed, the firstborn is typically the most severe when it comes to ASD's. I myself have HFA but my younger brother is NT.

I have had two co-workers over the years with a child with downsyndrome neither of them had a second child with it. They had normal NT children when they produced more kids.

I am the first born in my family with two NT brothers who are normal living ordinary lives. People still say to me that they can't figure out why I am doing so poorly since I come off smarter than my brothers.
