My son is Joshua. He's awesome. Never met a game he couldn't conquer yet has maybe one friend. He brings alot to the table but is more fascinated with the table then conversation. He's brilliant but can't tie his shoes. He is my pride and joy. I want to do everything I can for him and to teach him how to do everything else for himself. He's ten now and starts middle school in a year and a half. That terrifies me! I know that he will be okay but I can't see it so I worry alot. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. He is really something special!

Sounds like he's doing well. I didn't tie my own shoes when I was that age either and I don't believe my brother could tie his own shoes until at least his mid teens, but we did very well in school and had an amazing mother who never forced us into uncomfortable situations.

Hello! Welcome!
Try the bungees, they're cool:

Not those specifically, but ones with that bungee cord. He'll be the envy of the kids.

Hello there. I am new as well and my son Jay has Aspergers. He is in 4th grade now and I am also already worried about middle school. I am trying my hardest to just take one day at a time though and appreciate him. And there is a lot to appreciate too. He is a great kid! In fact he is teaching me more than I am teaching him I think.

Hi....I'm new as well.

I can sympathize with the worry......
I worried more about my son starting Middle School and High School than he did...actually I don't think he did. :o
I was worried about bullies and how he would fit in...etc...etc....
Thankfully he didn't come across any of that......
But like your son...he excelled at video games and only had a couple of actual friends.

He did well....and is now in college with a part time job !
