Just for fun, I thought we'd put together a list of flavor or food combinations that sound completely awful; see who comes up with the most bizarrely creative and disturbing ones.

I'll start off:

  • Meatloaf and whipped cream
  • Ketchup and oranges
  • Coffee and toothpaste
  • Asparagus flavored ice cream

I can say from first-hand experience that eating or drinking anything right after you brush your teeth is going to have an awful taste. That's why I always eat before I brush my teeth.

I had courgettes, mushrooms, chicken goujons and parsley sauce this afternoon. It was wrong but they would have gone off otherwise

"Chocolate-coated garlic-flavored eggs." (Once proudly presented to our mother by my then-5 yr old sister. There was some other special ingredient too, I forget what. :) )

poached eggs in mint sauce is not nice.

never bother to make a mushroom smoothie.

lemon flavored milk does not work. neither does orange flavored milk work.

currried watermelon is best avoided.

cods eye pies are never going to be sampled by me. if they really existed, then some person would dare to eat them i am sure.

beer froth ice blocks may appeal to some (if they existed), but i just like an chilled apple sandwich or maybe an apricot sandwich on hot days.

honey soy chicken wings in vanilla custard is a dish i would never advertise on my menu if i had a restaurant.

Dark chocolate and mint are delicious together. OTOH, milk chocolate and mint are gross.

Sandra Lee's combinations tend to be disgusting. However, I love her because she's such a hot mess.
