Poll: Migraine and Autism - Aspergers

I'm interested to know if Autism and Aspergers people are more likely to have migraines than the general population. I'm fortunate to be associated with people studying migraine headaches, and the characteristics that cause Autism/AS may be the same as those that cause migraines.

Please aswer yess if you have any form of migraine: pain, non-pain, aura, etc. If the poll generates interest, I can create a new poll with more detailed questions. I've broken the poll down by sex because women are more likely to have migraines than men. My understanding is that men are more likely to have Autism/AS.

Myself, I've suffered from migraines since about the age of 5. Tunnel visio, nausea, and debilitating pain are my usual symptoms, and tend to be triggered by barometric high pressure/low pressure changes, and environmental triggers such as nutrasweet, and seasonal pollen.

I have also had continuing issues with stress/tension headaches, which for me tie more in with my inability to deal with day to day life, and the issues I have in dealing with the world at large on their terms.

I always have at least one a year. Very nasty. A couple of months ago I had one in college. I felt so, so bad, going blind in one eye, head roaring, but thank Christ I didn't throw up.

I have no idea how it would connect with autism, though.

I get occasional migraines, at least according to a neurologist. But they are mild compared to the ones my wife gets. I think the neurologist was smoking crack that day.

I get them a lot. Every couple months or so, I'll get one that lasts for several days. The pain varies over that time from so intense that I can't do anything but lie in a dark room writhing and crying to a dull but persistent pain, but I experience nausea, become even more sensitive to sensory stimuli than normal, and feel like I lose several IQ points.

I rarely have "migraines," but I do get headaches often.

I've had migraines since I was about 7. It has gotten better, though. It used to be a couple a week. I am down to a few a month. Just have to avoid bright lights in dark places (like headlights at night), high pitched sounds, and being around sea food or foods that are in the process of being fried.

I often get headaches, though they don't necessarily manifest as migraines. But I have had those too with light, sound sensitivities, where I need to be alone in a darkened room to recover. When those come on they are usually preceded by a light show....like sparklers.

I get migraines with aura/scintillating scotoma at least once a week. Occasionally I get a 'silent' migraine that presents with just aura/scotoma and no pain/nausea. I have been a chronic sufferer for about 7 or 8 years

I am 16 and have suffered from migraines since age 6. They have got much better over the past few years though.

I am 20. Had horrible migraines throughout my child hood and was on medication. They got better and now I hardly get them.

I've had migraines off and on since I was a teenager, but it's more genetic than my being an Aspie as my NT brother and mom have both had them. My brother has had a prescription because it was the only thing that worked.

No migraines. 2/3 other females in my immediate family get them, though the reasons are at least semi-understood in both.

I have had migraine headaches since I was about 8 years old.
I am lucky in that I know when to expect one and avoid things which trigger it.

Since last year I have suffered the additional symptom of occular migraine which passes after 20 minutes but I get no prior warning unfortunately.
