hi there :-),

i often hyperfocus, and feel abit overloaded. Of course i also face from time to time some depressions and so on. Therefore i would like to tryout some meditation and concentration exercises, to learn to feel my body, and to relax better.

However, there are alot of meditation courses out there. For example, QIGONG, TAICHICHUA or YOGA courses are offered in my area. I wonder now which i shall chose. I dont want to waste my time, so I would highly appreciate if some people could tell me your experiences about that.

If you want to relax, I'd recommend Hatha yoga. But if you can, why not try a few classes of each if you can and see what appeals? I found Tai Chi quite relaxing as well.

I just started practicing yoga (beginners group). I understand that it takes A LOT of practice to feel the full effect but I'm really enjoying it so far. I don't know about other courses because they don't offer those around here :shrug: Hope you find what's best for you :)

you can do any of the classes you mentioned, i'm sure they will all be relaxing and interesting, and involve some kind of physical exercise/therapy mixed in with meditation.

but it's also useful to try out meditation on its own, as you can use various techniques when you are stressed without people around you knowing what you are doing.There are lots of different approaches to meditation, but I would start with finding some podcasts for guided meditation, there's loads, some are from different religions, some are more for relaxation. Personally I quite enjoy self-affirming Californian style meditation, and also Tibetan Buddhism guided meditation.

There are lots of different techniques, eyes open or closed, complicated visualisations and simple ones, or just simple focusing on the breath (an excellent beginner's meditation, also known as Anapana).

I have found yoga to be beneficial.

I have been meditating since I was around 12, as my mother thought it would help myself and my siblings manage our moods. And it has!

Now days I'm fairly hardcore into mantra meditation.

Meditation is a wonderful tool to use, you should most certainly get cracking and join/learn something that suits you.
