If alcohol was good for you would you be drinking it all the time becuse it subdues some symptoms of aspergers and makes you be more talkitive and social when your drunk.

In fact if drugs and alchol was good for your body that could be a cure for autisim. But unfourtantly its not :(

Drugs and Alchol are not a treatment for autism. For me it makes symptoms worse. I cant think clearly at all when Im drunk. Ive already been decribed by people as functioning on the level of someone whos had about 6 beers. Ive also been compared to Boomhouer on a bottle of sleeping pills.

But alcohol isn't good for you, and if I drink too much (tipsy, heading towards drunk) I become even more isolated and it's harder to think. All in all, it's a pretty unpleasant experience.
One glass of wine relaxes me quite nicely but it does nothing for my social abilities.
I can be very talkative without alcohol - but this does not include smalltalk and drinking alcohol doesn't change that.

Nah. Alcohol does not make me more social or anything positive... it just makes me vomit... a lot :eew:

I'm a happy drunk. I do socialize more when drinking. It's not a cure - more like an occassional social aid.

if you drank alcohol all the time you would soon become sober and hence AS symptoms would return with that added feeling of lethargy. I see your point but you need to ask the question of why anybody drinks to excess

I'm the same exact way, but because I have to drive home in most all situations that I drink, I drink very light. I rarely ever get drunk. For what little I drink, there really is no concern for my health.

It does not treat the symptoms of AS.

It does alleviate anxiety as a symptom. Unfortunately, if this is alleviated, then all of your oddness is on display. I do drink, so I know. Thankfully, my roommate is the only one who gets to see this. And he has commented on how certain behaviors become much, much worse when I don't have a sober brain to keep them in check.

Alcohol is a poison.

If you want to kill yourself younger become and alcoholic.

I socialise better drunk and i'm relaxed in situations that usually stress me like the clubbing scene. I on't do it much though. And alcohol makes you fat.

Alcohol does make my a little more out going, but I know it's (literally) the alcohol talking... I know it's not real, and that bothers me, it doesn't change my thinking patterns, it just makes me talkative. Maybe that would change if I actually got drunk, but I never have thanks to my freakishly high alcohol torrence, I always run out of money and booze before I get more then a light buzz.

I'd say it helps socializing when you're drinking with other people. I don't think it would help much in other social situations.

Too much of anything is bad for you. So even if I did take your post as hypothetical it still wouldn't be good for you.

I enjoy a few drinks while out at a concert or, God forbid, at an actual party. It does make me talk more to people, maybe a bit too much. Oh well, I have fun while drinking.

Using anything in order to perform better in situations is not a particularly good idea, one should be careful it is not used as a crutch.

The world should legalise MDMA.
