Make a list of the most important things you would like the media to make awareness about concerning autism. If someone has already mentioned something important to you mention it again but in your own words. List max per person for this is 5 top items of most concern to you. Feel free to describe why they are important to you or just be very simple about it.

If your bullied on the job and have a disability, you need to get into contact with an employment lawyer....you can sue the company. Just keep a record of it for your sake.

Whether your white or not is not the question....racial discrimination is racial discrimination and is a federal crime. Employement discrimination based on disability is something else, but its also a federal crime and their many state laws prohibiting it . If you had gone to an Institution, as you claim, when they did a background check on you prior to hiring you, they would have known this. They took the risk in hiring you. You should have checked with a lawyer and kept a written record of dates and timess.

I am not sure what the replies have to do with the topic. My hope was constructive purposes and submitting it to my and other media contacts. However none of this seems usable and some of it adverse such as racial conflicts in a topic of specific purposes. Black people do not hate people with autism and people with autism do not hate people of different races because of autism.

It would be important for each person on the spectrum to be accepted as they are. That way, everybody on this planet can live their lives in peace.

That would be a wholesome idea. But in politics acceptance has been used to confront other agendas that advance treatment rights. Now it is no longer that simple but perhaps it might be achieved another way. I will think about it and how it might be presented for least resistance.

I would like to see more education and training of our public and private school teachers. It is unfair that I have to educate a new set of teachers every year when my son starts a new grade. I don't mind reviewing his 504 plan but I am sick of teachers thinking I'm asking for special treatment like he's getting more breaks than the "average" students. I start each year with a folder for each teacher with a print off of the DSM and literature about ADHD and Aspergers. I just want an even playing field for my son and all the students who learn differently than the average students. We are losing too many of our gifted in the muck!

What we need most is proper screening as young as possible. There is therapy that works, it don't eliminate Autism, but helps significantly with social skills, coping and other . The younger the child is, the greater the difference.

It seems awareness and especially by parents seems to cover the majority of those concerns already. This autism awareness month I made no attempt to be creatively involved. As the inclusion campaign I put together was not ready I will next year use the month to create awareness for inclusion but that also benefits those without autism such as a number of other developmental disabilities.

Awareness of autism is quite strong. I think it will increase but real solutions for inclusion in adulthood are needed. I don't like the mentality that government is the solution always. The government is not going to solve all the problems but I think local community can be a real big help.

Has/Is anyone participating in a Walk for Autism Speaks? This is a great way to meet people and find out all available resources!! My son who is 10 and recently diagnosed with Asperger's is raising money and walking! I am so proud of him. It is a great cause!
Help him reach his goal if you can =) His team name is Team Mitchell! Go team Mitchell!

Parents should not have to struggle - there is a widely available resource that goes untapped and undeveloped - adults on the spectrum. I would like to see a concerted effort to bring autistic adults together with autistic kids and their families in a mentor program capacity. Autistic mentors could be an invaluable resource to bring wide scale understanding ,education and support to a community that is routinely understaffed, undereducated and overwhelmed.

Why so negative on the possibility? Do you think it is a bad idea or that it just isn't possible for some reason?

Anything can be done in this world with enough money to fund it.
