That's a mouthful isn't it? Sooo, my dear grandson who is a more than child has been in kindergarten this year. A lot of concerns expressed that he was adhd and needed meds from the school were expressed. Dad said 'no meds' not at this point at least. His dad insisted that at least another speech eval be done and the lil guy did start speech in January. Couldn't get the psychologist to send in a recommendation for an ot evaluation (she thought he had sensory processing issues). Kept truckin' through the school year and finally an opening came up at a university peds neuro clinic. So...after extensive interviews and evaluations this was the diagnosis. So, my son expected to have to have a disagreement with the teacher today...but guess what? she said 'well, that explains a lot!' and discussed how they could assist in his schooling. And, while she was at it...noted that it appears he is gifted in math and want his folks to consider a gifted class in math for next year. Speech and communication were 3.7 years (he is 6.5) and social emotional was 3.3..
Nobody fits in a box! What a crazy couple of days!
