Yeah it appears to have been going on for a couple years at least but is just coming to light now. i guess that the media is so censored that it is not being reported. This is not a political issue as such though, so why the need to keep it quiet? Puzzling to me.

Anyone heard of this from other sources?

They really don't seem to care at all about their people.

They apparently still have this problem (with powdered milk/baby formula) but I've read that they censor any detections that happen (I think somewhere in here: http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread131954/pg1 ). What if this virus is something that they have little immunity to because of a dietary issue? As in, some other food tampering issue that causes decreased immunity as it doesn't seem to be present outside of China.

It wouldn't be so alarming except that,
according to your original link,
it can be spread by contact with ANY type of bodily fluid-
sweat, saliva, etc.

It seems to be AIDS with the transmissibility of a cold.

I have to have blood taken for labwork today-
I'll find a way to mention it to the phlebotomist.
I'd mention it to my parents, but they've started tuning out someone who had panic attacks about the apocalypse at twelve.

A woman in Shenzhen with Internet moniker “The End” said her whole family had died after being infected with the disease. Afterwards, she said, she had sex with men to infect them.

A lady named “Fear” from Xiang Fan City in Hubei Province is still infecting people. One of 50 people who participated in a CCDC examination admitted that he has donated blood in the past and spit in a colleague’s cup to spread the virus.

These patients keep their lives hidden from others. Besides discussing their individual symptoms with fellow patients, they would not let others know their situation, even relatives who have become infected by them. They say they are afraid of being discriminated against, hated, and abandoned.

I realise the reasoning of those infected but passing a virus of this nature on (on purpose) is horrible.

I think it originated from the minds of Chinese men. It looks like what is spreading is a meme.

When I googled this story, every report was from a fringe website- nothing from the CDC or WHO. But Discover Magazine (which is real science, not fringe) had the above report about an outbreak of paranoia. Yes, I am calling Epoch Times a fringe website.

Could it be a cover-up that nobody but the fringe knows about? After all the news about H1N1 and SARS, I highly doubt it.

Good lord, I wish that China would just put common sense first over its international image. In fact, this will probably detoriate rather than help ir if it becomes more well known!
