Next Friday on the 15th is the Day of Silence. It is an annual event sponsored by GSLEN to draw attention to those who are 'silenced' by LGBT bullying. Is anyone else here planning to participate in it?

If I was a better person I would. But I need to talk. Anyway, I have a road test to get my driver's license that day. And am singing in my school musical that night.

I'd like to participate, but I don't have any classes on Friday. I suppose I could try to remain silent around the house, though.

Will do. I'll need to buy a notepad for the day, though.

Hmmm...what if you already spend your days in relative silence? Should I be extremely talkative instead??? Either way, I am willing to participate. It's for a good cause.

The day of dialogue was started by an anti-gay group 'Focus on the Family' as protest for the day of silence, so I'm not sure it'd be the same message.

Count me in, although it would be very hard to explain why I'm not speaking to anyone.

I participated. I helped organize a group of students at my school in holding a demonstration for the day - we stood outside the library with red duct tape over our mouths, handing out "speaking cards" to explain our reasons for not speaking. It was a really good way to spread awareness about the day.

I spoke little, forgot it was Day of Silence until I got to school.

My god, I hate "Family Values."
