...and take them back to my facebook!

I could always just try and talk to some here... I know you're out there. I saw quite a few of you (ladies in particular I think) with Astrology listed as an interest. For the sake of good manners I'll try start a conversation here. PM me to get my name so I can call upon your opinions and experiences easier! And vice versa!

I started studying Astrology when I was 11, stopped for a while, and went seriously into it last year. Never made a chart by hand, but I do have a decent free application and hours upon hours of study heh. I check my transits every now and then with Planets in Transit by Robert Hand (wow, what an awesome book.) I probably won't go professional but I think about it sometimes. I'm sort of allergic to educational institutions.

So let's start with some related questions:

What's your Midheaven? How do you think your aspie-ness is reflected in your birth chart? What are your strongest planetary influences in your birth chart (in your opinion?)

I met another aspie who had a chart shockingly similar to mine! His Moon was Aries like mine, Rising Taurus like mine, and thus an almost identical set of houses. His Midheaven was Capricorn, mine is Aquarius. He was a Virgo whereas I am a Gemini, both unsurprising signs to have aspies born in. Both our Moons are in the 12th House, explaining our emotional need for solitude (for starters... the 12th House is a complex one.)

I think the Moon (intuition), Mercury (communication and intellect), Mars (passion and independence) Uranus (all things strange) and Pluto (mysteries and obsessions) probably have very strong roles in making aspies. My own strongest planets are probably Mercury (Gemini Sun and Mercury (true Gemini?)) Mars (Aries Moon) Venus (Taurus and Venus Rising together) and Uranus (Aquarius Midheaven) and Jupiter present in my Midheaven. I'm of the Pluto in Scorpio generation which is of course a well placed planet.

Blah could go on forever.

I think my aspieness is clear in my Mercurial nature, I tend on the mentally agile side. My greatest passion is martial arts which I attend to with total seriousness (Aries Moon) as well as everything else I do. I'm known as that friend who you shouldn't play any game with or beside unless you want it to be analyzed constantly (even silently is not alright lol), which I think is my tendency to treat games as tests of real martial skill (Aries) and my 5th House in Virgo (critical with hobbies.) My Aquarius Midheaven is a b-tch, and awesome: I am drawn to Astrology, Physics, World Peace and everything weird as careers in the world, with Jupiter aiding me with expansive energy, but Uranus (the associated planet with Aquarius) placed in my 8th House suggesting a connection with mystery, sex, death and transformation. I'm a total weirdo! My current profession is indeed in the sex industry, and I spend it spreading as much love, peace and enlightenment as I can, by a matter of habit. I am still looking for another option to express myself properly, but one hasn't yet popped up... It drives me nuts.

Sooo. :D

WOW IS IT? THANKS FOR TELLING ME.

Seriously, just be glad I didn't post this in the Science forum and let some people share a special interest, would you? I have to deal with people like you already in my own circle of friends. I don't see why you think it's at all reasonable social behavior to butt in to a conversation on an interest that you're not educated in just to try discredit it with blatant bigotry--which just fails every time btw.

Midheaven in Virgo. Virgo is supposed to be a bit Aspie. I have a sensitive stomach. OCD traits? I'm more ADD, I couldn't keep a room straight if I tried. Messy virgo here. It's funny that I have my midheaven there in the sign of the workaholic and I've hardly been able to hold down a job. I do keep busy though. Very busy.

But then, I have Uranus sextile Midheaven, which is maybe the spanner in that works.

I think Uranus conjuncting my ascendant is pretty defining for me. I'm a weirdo. I'm creative, but not in a good way... like people falling over themselves to give me money for my 'work'. I don't fit. I can't do things in normal ways, I always have to find my own way.

Why so? I'd say that Gemini could be the sign of the hyperlexic. ADD traits there too.

Well I mentioned my Uranus. Pluto (or mars) rule my chart, but I don't feel so much affinity to either planet. Uranus is the planet of the eccentric, for sure.

You're probably a hoot in bed. Or utterly terrifying.

Oh yeah, I think the regular PPR denizens aren't going to treat this thread well, I would just ignore them.

It's ok... most people don't know that that sort of Astrology is not real Astrology. I am used to it. Maybe I should rename what I study to Actual Astrology not Magazine Pop-Astrology. :\

This is the PPR. Get thicker skin or don't post here, there are far worse things I could have said about astrology. It is completely acceptable for me to post my distaste for astrology
I'm educated in astronomy, which is relevant study of space and planets. So I am educated in the subject of space, and I don't need to discredit astrology, as it has long been discredited. Also, I am not a bigot, I am a skeptic/amateur astronomer, so keep the ad hominems to yourself miss. Just out of curiosity, how does one get 'educated' in astrology?
Also, what do you think of the 13th sign, Ophiuchus? (I think that is what its called)

Astrologers have known about the procession of the equinoxes for ages. It's just a media stir over nothing.

I wasn't asking with any other intention other then what her thoughts on it were.

I could move this somewhere else, if you like. Unless you want a conversation which is just some people saying astrology is nonsense and some saying it isn't.

I'm sorry, I thought it was an open question. If my opinion is not welcome, I shan't give it.

ah! No no I definitely value your opinion Moog. It is an open question, I just for some reason got the impression you thought I was trying to insult her or something. My mistake
