What is your favourite and your least favourite month and why?

My favourite month is April.
There are flowers everywhere, and blossom on the trees. Everything feels new and hopeful, the leaves are a verdant green. The birds are beginning to nest and the lambs are being born.

My least favourite month is August.
It is dry and too hot, my senses feel overwhelmed by heat and light. The grass turns yellow. The rivers dry up. The days are too long. The children are off school and noisy and everywhere. Its too hot to stay indoors, but outside makes me feel very sensitive. Also the flies drive me mad.

Favorite is October. I love autumn. I love autumn more in seasonal places. I currently live in a subtropical climate. But I still love October.

My least favorite is December. Not saying why.

I like January. That's when Mick Avory joined The Kinks, in 1964.

That depends on what part of the country I'm in. Northern parts of the US, I like May and June, Southern parts of the country, I like April, October, and early November.

I do like spring...if I was to say a particular month I like the most, I would say April or May.
The worst month for me, particularly in the past 3 or 4 years, has been January, because the short and cold days have tended to make me miserable.

My favourite month is October.
I love autumn, it's the best time to go for a quiet walk and reflect on things. The weather is cooling down but not yet cold, if you go out in the evening as the sun goes down you get wonderful colours of the sunset and russet leaves, the sound of the birds singing and leaves rustling on the trees or crunching under your feet, the smell of earth and bonfires, all just wonderful. The way autumn smells and feels reminds me of my childhood and makes me feel more connected to the earth and to my soul, and to me there is just a feeling in the air like an anticipation of something...not least of all anticipation for Samhain/Halloween which is my favourite holiday.

My least favourite month is January.
I dislike heat, but I'm not exactly fond of the freezing cold either, in January the weather is at it's worst and normally so icy that you're stuck in the house going stir crazy with absolutely nothing to do, and everything here just grinds to a halt in the cold weather, it's ridiculous. The joys of Christmas, Yule and New Year are over, and you've yet to recuperate your finances so the new year always starts with money worries and concerns for the next year, particularly if homeless or unemployed. I always want January over so I can stop being so miserable and face whatever is on my way in the coming year.

Hmmm. I like autumn... But I hate September... I never know which clothes to wear because the weather is always so changeable. One minute it's summer, and te next minute it's like autumn. And then back again. I don't know what my favourite month is, but I know it's not September.

My favorite months would have to be June, because it's the end of the school year and the beginning of summer break, and July, because it's the month of my birthday. :)

I think my least favorite month would either be August, because it's "back to school" season, or January/February, because those two months are usually long and boring.

I don't really mind that much now than when I used to be in full time education, mainly because I don't have to think about the coursework and stuff as well as yearbooks, reports and exams.
January is so mild at the moment with only some remnants left of the storm up North and beyond but if I had to select ones then June and August. I used to like May, so maybe Spring will be right this year.
We had the Diamond Jubilee in June 2012 and held the Olympics in August.
Other months would need a longer term stratedgy for me to align to them.

xmas is long past I fear
now i'm dreading the new year
the nasty gray damp cold january
is to me but depressing and scary
it's like pushing a big ol' stone yet again
up a steep slippery hill against the grain
why can't it just be december forever
and for once and all, january never?

January is pain,
Like pushing a gravy train,
Like never singing in the pouring rain,
A training camp unlike we’ve ever seen, again.

Unless by some miraculous proxy,
It snows again,
Reduces the pain,
Making us smile once again.

Mine would probably have to be April or May, since that's around the time the snow FINALLY melts here, and usually the weather is nice, but not too warm like it is during the summer months.
