One might think that a site with "Speaks" in its name would promote free speech and open dialogue.
One might think that.

Perhaps they should save honest, successful Aspies like us the trouble of joining and getting banned by adding a footnote below their title:
"Autism Speaks
... Unless it Conflicts with Our Agenda, in Which Case it Doesn't.
"
They should accordingly change their domain name to asuicwoaiwcid.ning.org

the reason why autism speaks doesnt like autistic people who use language is that we can disagree with them.people who are non verbal or slightly verbal pose no threat to there corupt empire.not that the asan is any better but i think thats great you were banned for speaking out agaisnt there iron curtain and evil empire

I nearly got the cops called on me for getting into a screaming match with an Autism Speaks representative at a talk. I sarcastically yelled, "Of course they do!" when the speaker said numerous parents think about murdering their child, and that is how it ended.

Apparently it is a good reason to find a cure if families cannot go on vacations because their child with autism would only eat dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets. They mentioned running into traffic about 3 times. Then they were like, well, we are looking into how many vaccines the child gets to see if there is anything there. Ridiculousness.

If I ever do hear one of their representatives talk in person, I really think it would be impossible for me not to shout out some pretty nasty things to them in return.

They seriously need to rename their organization to something that isn't hypocritical B.S. This is just getting ridiculous now.

If I had more time (and patience... and if I cared enough) I'd go there and try to see if I could get myself banned as well. Perhaps conduct an experiment to see what level of "success" in life would end up getting me banned. I'd add one tidbit at a time.
