I would like to know are any of you in high school right now that are really lonely and that none knows that you exist? What do you do when you feel like that or when you want attention from people? I always feel like this when I am at school. I only talk to like 5 people a year and I never see them again. I am mostly bored when I am at school just waiting for when the day gets out and I never hang out with anyone on the weekend or go anywhere. I never really talk to people when I am at school. Am I the only one like this?

I feel like this too. I feel like no one knows I'm there. I've actually hve had several pesople ask where I was even though I was in the same room, one time I was even sittin in front of the girl who asked. I've also had peole run straight into me in the hallway as if they couldn't see me. It would be funny if it didn't happen so often. I usually try to ignore it, but it can get really annoying.

Not at all. I never hung out with ANYONE I knew personally in highschool, I had one friend and I liked none of his friends and basically stopped hanging out with him altogether junior year.

To be honest the whole hanging out thing in general is overrated.. i'm not saying the loneliness isn't real or that you shouldn't make strides to socialize. But with the general crowd? No, usually those people have as many issues if not more than we do and its not worth the time to try to fit in with them.

Just make sure opportunies do not pass you by, there are sometimes one or two you may genuinely click with and have interesting things to talk about. I let it happen a couple of times in highschool. Also if one of those 5 people are people you ACTUALLY get along with, offer to hang out after school and don't mind too much if they reject your offer, it just means the opportunity wasn't there.

I was such a ghost in my high school, they didn't even mention me in the senior yearbook...not even in the "These people were not pictured" section.

I did have my circle of people to hang out with...I wouldn't really say they were friends because almost two years later I never talk to any of them.

Pretty much. I'm in the NAQT club and the chess club, but they're mostly seniors. Otherwise I just do my work and wait for the day to end, I think even some of my teachers don't know who I am.

I didn't really talk to people much in high school. Mostly I just wanted to be left alone. I even had my own locker, out of necessity, of course. They kept extra lockers for people like me who had to have their own.

As far as just passing right through, well it goes both ways. Sort of how you're looking at one point in a picture for a long time, something bleaches out and after a while you don't even see it anymore.

Yes even after a girl was shot and everyone was talking about being there for each other, it kinda messes with your sanity when someone is killed and not a single person asks if you're alright.

I can't believe I survived high school. It has been 5 years since I grad. It feels like another lifetime ago.

I had almost no friends......always walked around by myself during lunchtime and break. So sad lonely and depressing thinking about it.

Doesn't really feel like it happened though, feels like ages ago, I know i was there and it did happen but it feels so weird how and alien looking back.

ive been out of high school for 18 years, but still remember it well, i had no real friends and the guys who use to hang around with me wear all users who wear only talking to me to use me for money, when i wasnt battling being lonely i was batting the school bullies because i was just different, and use to come home with black eyes or red marks around my neck from being strangled, high school was a night mare i wish i was more invisable back then, i tend to wear alot of black now as i way to disappear into society

I wish I had been a ghost. I would have been tortured less.

I made it my own decision to be a ghost in highschool. It didn't really bother me. I saw it as an opportunity to get through school and graduate. I wasn't interested in pretending to be what I wasn't, in order to follow the herd.

I did feel like a ghost in high school, but I did have a couple friends too. Even now though, 7 years after graduating, I still feel like a ghost. Like one of the posters said above, I also get those incidents where people will just not see me, even though I'm in the same room. Or sometimes in group conversation, I'll speak at the same volume level and I'm just not heard.

Maybe we are magical and should harness this superpower of invisibility of ours.

After my "Five minutes of fame" (I trashed an art classroom after snapping because I was being picked on for too long). I became a Ghost.

Best thing that ever happened to me when it came to Secondary school.
