Well, before I even knew about asperger's I liked autistic people.

Granted I only knew about lower-functioning autistic people, but I remember one autistic child near to where my ex used to live, I hated that the kid had to be hidden away from other kids and his parents had to try to educate others by putting posters about autism on their front door to let people know that their kid wasn't ret*d or violent, it was basically asking people not to be physically or verbally abusive to their kid due to ignorance. My mothers ex also has a low-functioning autistic daughter who is amazing, I loved her to bits and was so excited to get a little sister, it's from knowing her that I ended up learning about asperger's.

I never thought of autistic people as being less than me, and I've always been prone to attracting/being attracted to strange people. So I never disliked autistic people when I thought I was an NT...and thus I can't imagine my disliking them if I was actually an NT. Although, I do REALLY dislike shy people, so if I were NT and met an aspie who seemed to be shy I may dislike them at first.

Since most neurotypicals fear and dislike people that are different than themselves regardless of whether they admit it and if I were such a person - maybe.

I'm not the type of person who's gonna get on someone for the way they communicate or socialize with people. The only time that would bother me is if they get too close to me for my comfort regardless of whether they're NT or autie. I'm not really good at getting angry or violent at people unless they're intentionally given me a hard time. I'll get a bit upset yes but if it's something they really can't help due to their autism, who am I to hold it against them?

Before I knew I was autistic I ended up knowing a lot of (and getting along with) autistic people.

I dunno. I'm me now. I kinda like autistic people. Some anyway. And because I understand them a bit better than an NT might, I can forgive some of their more annoying traits.

I can't really answer the question because if I were an NT I would be a completely different person. I only know one other aspie in real life besides my dad (and I'm just making assumptions here), and he is the only person who I actually don't mind working in a group with. I understand why everyone else hates him because he can be annoying, but I just laugh at him because he hasn't figured it out yet. He is a genius, but he's more than totally clueless in social situations. He makes my AS look extremely mild, although I can totally relate to him at times.

I'd like to say I'd like them, but my family don't seem to like people who are different (no doubt fuelled by their Christian beliefs). So if I was NT I'd be more likely to be influenced by them.

Yes I would. Why would I not like them?

I probably wouldn't notice them.

There is nothing hypothetical about the ridiculousness of the question.

You are asking aspies to speculate on how NTs might think. By definition, autism is a deficit in such things. Look up Theory of Mind. How the hell should I know what an NT thinks?

I don't think I would like autistic people now, I might be a more tolerant person if I was NT.

...

Before anyone responds to ask why I am here, I am on the forums because it provides me with an opportunity to discuss a topic I would never discuss with my NT friends as I wouldn't want them to know I am autistic. Talking online also avoids most of the things that would annoy me about autistic people in real life, like stimming, not making eye contact, having a monotone voice, poor personal hygiene, being in my personal space etc.

It really depends on the person. There are some aspies who can be a little jerkish...anyone, regardless of being aspie or nt can be a jerk.

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.

Hard to answer. As me, people who remind me most of me are often the people I find most annoying.
