Ive been driving around town a lot on service calls these past few very hot days, and I can't believe the people that are sweating it out in their cars with the windows down. Now, I know that not everybody has a working air conditioner in their vehicles, but when I see a rather new Mercedes, or Lexus, I'm pretty sure that vehicle has a working AC, but the occupants aren't using it for some odd reason Air conditioners in vehicles these days don't really worsen gas mileage all that much, especically in big vehicles. I just can't figure it out. I guess those people are more used to the heat that others.

...another odd thing I saw while I was out in the yard was a teenage boy rode by on a bicycle with another boy. He was wearing long pants and a knit stocking cap!

...I'm going to assume the odd thing in the last paragraph was that there were boys riding on a bike together, because I always overdress in hot weather. Even during heat waves, I'll be wearing a pair of black pants and a long-sleeved black shirt.

Oh! God! You must be living on the East Coast of the US. We've had a heat wave here for the past week, and it had been blamed for a few deaths. I can't stand the heat, personally, so I tend to use the air conditioner a lot. But, the thing about having windows down in a car? There maybe a reason. The air conditioner can get real cold, but if you turn it down, it can then get real hot again. So, if you open the window with the air conditioner on, then you get the heat coming in with the cold. It has been way too hot for the last few days, though, so I don't have my windows down that much.

Some of us drive old wrecks that don't have working air conditioners because we can't afford to do otherwise. Any chance I get to use AC it goes on, though. I feel sorry for the little kids and old people.
