I was the weirdo in school and well into my teenage year people called me "odd ball" to my face. I think people still have those views somewhat only now as an adult they don't say it to my face. And also it doesn't bother me like it use to as I wouldn't change who I am.

I was considered a freak in high school. Now I hang out with a bunch of freaks in college .

I have my anonymity, for a while. By 4th year, when I'm in a small class, people will probably think I am :)

In middle school and high school, yes I was. In college, I seem to have found a niche of people who accept my oddities and even forget that I have AS at all. They see me as their friend and that's why I don't know how I'll be without them once I graduate college this Saturday. :(

Somewhat. Then again, I might be just considered as eccentric.

I'm pretty sure the vast majority of people on WP were a freak of some sorts during our educational years. You'd be a very strange aspie if you were considered "normal" by your peers. Weird is the norm here.

After 7th grade. Got in with some accepting weirdoes in 12th grade, College, still rather a freak, but an increasing proportion of freaks to blend with.

As faculty, freakishness tewnded to increase again - faculty freaks more and more personae non gratae.

Yup, and proud of it! :D

My colegues at my master's studys are the type that like to talk about food (I sometimes listen in because I find such sheer bore rather fascinating), don't understand certain concepts very well but love to patronize you when discussing them, and forcily correct themselves whenever they make the slightest gramatical error, as making small gramatical errors makes you an idiot it seems  (I guess when you can't even understand kantian morals you are very keen in finding OTHER people stupid).
Just had one of my own ideas thrown back at me the other day followed by a "do you understand?".

Really, I would consider that I'm doing something wrong if I would not be seen as a freak by these dipsh!ts.

I was considered a free spirited eccentric intellectual. I wouldn't say I fit in with everybody but I got along with most everyone with a few exceptions.

I was in the art club, I also hung out with music nerds and generally smart kids a lot.

Some of the dumber folks, jocks, and agricultural kids didn't really know what do do with me so I was interpreted as "fag" or "queer" even though I'm not gay.

So I wouldn't say freak but definitely different.
