That really is something. There is alot of movement to the horse.

Ooh, an art thread! And I'd say that's pretty impressive.

Not to be a critic but I think the body is pretty big and the curvature of the body isnt right, back left leg is messy, nice job on legs and mane/neck/head though, the tree on the right is pretty good, left two look like they were done very quickly, mountains are kinda confusing, are they snow capped? shadowy from clouds? if so where the clouds? is it water? if so wheres the rain

Wow, I've always been amazed at how people can draw realistically like that. (And since I have trouble drawing stick-figures, I have no critique to offer.)

Beautiful! I love the motion in here. I do agree with IntrepidWolf that the body is a little out of proportion, but I really like the look of the mountains in the background; they look like the Rockies way off in the distance to me. Just keep working, remember, practice makes perfect!

Thanks everyone! The body isn't out of proportion.... it's a belgian draft horse. That's the way they're built.
And I'm horrrrrrible at drawing backgrounds. This was my first try. It was hard. I can't imagine a scene for the life of me. I have to see everything in a photograph.

Thank you :) When I finish my current drawing I'm fanally opening the warapper on my pastels. I have no confidence working in color, but I have to start somewhere, right? :P

I worked in black and white so long I had no idea where to start apart from just blocking in color. My son told me about color harmony and he has no problem. I painted a few pictures but have to plan out color completely in photoshop first to feel confident and then I know I will finish cause I see it 2/3 done on the screen.
