In the past two weeks, many of my high school friends have graduated from college. I'm the same age and yet, I'm still in college. All over Facebook, I'm being bombarded with photos and congratulations and all of this other crap of the graduates. This makes me very jealous because we all graduated from high school together and we're all the same age. My whole life, I have never met the standards of society and the proper milestones of life. I'm 22 and I've yet to own a car, let alone receive a regular driver's license. I have not been in a relationship and I have not even held a part-time job. How can I cope with all of these friends' graduations? It's making me very upset.

I know how it is. In 2009 my dad graduated with his masters degree, I had two cousins graduating college with their degrees, and even my little sister was graduating from elementary school. Meanwhile I had just completed my hardest year of school to date. It really sucked.

I cannot tell you how overwhelming it was when my friends graduated from college at the graduation I would have attended had I kept going like I was supposed to in college. Even though I was in another state doing a summer program I felt so heartsick seeing photos of the graduation. I couldn't believe it was overand that I'd missed the rest of my time with them at college, I time I'd never be able to relive.

But oh well. Life goes on. I started writing back and forth with some other people I knew who had dropped/stopped out of college and it made me feel better.
