are there any velvet underground fans here? i LOVE the velvets. lou reed and john cale are both brilliant. sterling morrison is one of the most overlooked guitarists ever. i would have to say my favorite album is their eponymous third album.

I don't think I'm as into them as you are  , but I do like them. It's amazing how influential they were.

I'm with you!

I like all kinds of music, but classic rock is my favorite, since I grew up with it. We always called them the 'Underground', but it's the same bunch. They're great. I've got a few of them on vinyl!

yes big velvet underground fan here. i would agree, their self-titled album is probably their best. white light white heat is really good as well. especially the gift, and lady godiva's operation.

I like a lot of their stuff. Venus in Furs is by far he best piece off of Andy Warhol.

how do y'all feel about their last album (loaded)? it doesn't quite stand up to the other three, i mean it sounds like they were trying to make a hit album and also maureen tucker didn't play on it. regardless, i think it is still a classic.

I have the 'Peel Slowly and See' boxset. I like most of their stuff, but primarily the 'Banana album' material. Loaded struck me as a halfway house between VU and Lou Reed's solo career. But 'Venus In Furs', 'All Tommorow's Parties' and 'Sunday Morning' will always have a place on my playlist.

Ask me about Loaded. My life was saved by Rock and Roll.
