I have played songs over and over again for hours. Even for films, I have played certain scenes number of times because they get stuck in my head and then I move on. Those this happen to anyone else or something similar?

Songs mostly, but then a lot of great movie scenes come with songs.

Watchmen = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDN5rG3wLa4 It'll stick in my head for hours/days now. I usually repeat parts of songs in my head, unwillingly over and over and over.

Could it be some form of stimming? oO

I listen to the same albums over and over again and I don't get sick of them.

I've also watched Terminator 2 so many times I have lost count, but it would be over 300 times because I watched it every day for over a year

I do that too. I can listen to a song, an album, a film scene or a music video on loop for hours and not get sick of it. I especially love doing this with headphones on. It's like the world shrinks around me and I escape into my own world. :D

I've always got bits of songs (or sometimes quotes from films or tv shows) playing repeatedly in my head. If I'm at home I usually repeatedly sing or say whatever is stuck in my mind out loud too.

I have an incredible ability to repeat the same song on my iPod for an entire day.

I also watch certain episodes of TV shows and also movies over and over. When I was a kid I watched "Willow" over 40x. I saw "Titanic" 10x in the the theatre as a college student.

I think a lot of this need for repetition- in my case- stems from my inability to feel natural emotions at natural times. I only feel moved by art, so I constantly wanna relive the same feelings.

Yes. I've watched certain movies over 100 times. I've listened to the same song over and over for months. Same with certain insightful stuff I read. It appears almost like an addiction/compulsion?

I have this to an extent, but not quite the same. I have a small number of books, films and songs that are my comforts. I don't repeat them endlessly in a day, but when I want to partake in an activity, it will be out of my small list of comforts. I cycle reading the same books, but I might only read each book once a year.

Now, I am a mom, so I do watch kids shows and I partake in all of the child rearing activities with my son. I read a ton of kids books and we do a lot of fun activities every day. I consider that more of my "job" because I do have to act in order to do it correctly. But when I get down to the core of who I am, see above. :)

I like to reread many of the same books, rewatch many of the same movies, listen to the same songs over and over again. I have less tolerance for playing the same video games over and over again, but many games are pretty repetitive as it is.

Ugh, I'm doing that with a movie right now. It kind of makes me angry, because I don't want to be stuck on it.

Yes. I do it with songs. I play the same one over and over again while I drive in my car or while surfing the internet.

With DVDs of TV shows and movies, I'll repeat the same one over again for a few days. TV helps me sleep, so I'll listen to it as I go to sleep.

I do it to a lesser extent with books and videogames that I really love, as well.

I do this. Last year I listened to "Ligger Med Varandra" by DJ Auzern over 300 times. I listened to it on repeat the day I went to see Alice in Wonderland in theaters with my mom, so now the song makes me nostalgic for that particular day in my life. That same year I watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (the Tim Burton one) so many times that I'm able to quote Willy Wonka's lines ad verbatim.

Yes, I'm very, VERY, VEEEEERY fond of repetition. I play my favorite songs over and over. Recently it is this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pj0sEBdXjQ0, previously it was Iris.

Yep, me too. The same books, the same movies, the same songs over and over again, and I don't get tired of them.

When I watched "On the floor" by J. L. i repeated "La La La La La La La La La La La La La La, tonight be gon' be it on the floor" 400 times in my mind. Happens to most of the songs I listen for the first time.

This happens to me as well.

Even scenes in books. I reread a chapter over and over again. To the point that I remember word for word.
