Recent studies show that Thomas Jefferson was an Aspie. He had obsessive habits such as keeping track of the cost of his foods. He experimented with plants. He wrote for 6 to 8 hours every day.

I wrote a long play for National History Day about Jefferson. I got tenth place in the United States, and won a check for $1000, having won the Williamsburg Award for Early American History. I was invited to the National Archives to preform there. There's an article about it.

I have heard about Thomas Jefferson having AS. I own a book called 'Diagnosing Jefferson' that goes through all the diagnostic criteria and then describes how it relates to Jefferson. If I remember correctly, I think he fit all of it. It was really fascinating. I think it's comforting to know that some of the greatest figures in history had the same struggles that I do.
