As I went to school near Paris (Villers-le-Bel, to be exact), I can only tell you that you should avoid the highly frequented "tourist traps". The girls I went to school with were all very charming and most of them were pretty smart, if a tad shallow, but I got along with them all pretty well (as I already mentioned a couple times, I get along with girls better than boys, and Paris seemed to be no exception to that). You should try your luck on the outskirts (Porte d'Italie, for example, is a tad more "dirty" than the rest of Paris - and that is already quite an accomplishment -, and if you mind such a thing, there is a higher population of other ethnicities, but there are some truly great restaurants there where you can eat good food for reasonable prices, and the folks there are just a little less... well, fake. If you want to go looking more within the center of Paris, you should generally try parks. Paris may have many things, just some green greens where you can relax is none of them. For someone like me who comes from a city that is basicall 50% forest, parks and lakes, it was quite something to deal with. However, I noticed that most women of college student age were flocking to these few places.
