I still have my skateboard, I used to follow my daughter around the neighborhood while she was riding her scooter on it. But I certainly don't skate like I used to...

i used to skateboard, broke my leg on my cousin's homemade mini half-pipe, which was apparently "perfectly safe"
all's forgiven though, as he later taught me the 'hendrix chord' :)

I used to skateboard some years ago. I wasn't the type to do tricks though .. just ride around with friends.

My idea of skateboarding was to get on the board and roll across the street for less than 3 meters without any directional control whatsoever.

I have no interest in skateboarding, but I certainly don't mind looking at skateboarders.

I've been skating since I can remember. I remember being 5 and stealing my brothers' boards to go skating.

I would call that ambitious! I used to play Tony Hawks then go out thinking I'm the man, then i'd s**t myself after about three feet :S

I always wanted to. I bought a couple skateboards ostensibly for my daughters. I've been riding them with them this year.

Took me years and years to build up my balance and I'm still pretty scared, but I want to keep pushing on it this year.

The crappy skateboard that I bought when I was 8 (even though a skateboarder down the street told me not to) was the first thing I used a socket wrench on. That's pretty special; I like to take apart engines. I remembered that important memory as I was putting together my daughters boards; makes me really want to learn. I can push now and like to go down very slight inclines. I get pretty scared going down a hill.

I rode out to a skate park that was virtually abandoned. I had a pop and skated around for hours; it was spring and 10 C (50 F). It was a great afternoon of being alone and watching the afternoon settle into evening.

Skateboarding was my life from the time I was 12 - 15. I used to skate to Windsurfing Gale surf/skate shop and spend hours looking at the new decks and stuff, Thrasher and Transworld Skateboarding magazines were my favorite. The old Bones Brigade videos were great, the shopowner would let us watch them on the television they had set-up in the store. Not sure if you have seen this, but this is an old favorite:

I tried skateboarding when I was a teen but I s#cked at it & quickly gave it up.

Same. I just never had the balance for it.
