Wow! I was just about to post learning German! That falls in your Germanic languages interest category, iloveshoujai!

Also I wish I could find some Swedish books. Swedish is really what I want to learn. None of the libraries around here have any.

the meaning of life. That's my #1 interest all the time

Yes it surprised me too. It has become exactly like a special interest -- this person cut me deep, and now I think obsessively about how, why, etc. I hope to move on to another special interest quickly as this one makes me sad and angry.

Well my parents have drained me of all my love for life, but this stupid yet adorable Japanese show called "Hetalia" and Lord of the Rings have given me a little hope. If Frodo can survive, I will survive. The fan fiction associated with the above can be fun too.

cool. I love all the Germanic languages and I know all of them by heart, the histories behind them and the evolution of each into separate branches, their sound shifts and etymologies in relation to English. I have tried to learn some of them mainly German and old Norse/Icelandic. I have gotten a good amount of them but I think my interest mostly involves researching their evolution, sound shifts, etymologies and the attempt to re-germanisize English called Anglish. I have written articles in English with only germanic words since I can usually tell whether a word is Germanic or not by looking at it or memorization.

From age 3-14 I used to enjoy writing novels and inventing mathematical formulas, until I realized that all my ideas had already been thought of before, I turned to chess when I was 14 and would use unique moves to win so that nobody could claim that I was copying somebody else. When I was 16 I discovered 6-man tablebase on http://www.k4it.de/index.php?topic=egtb&lang=en which is a database of the exact evaluations of chess positions (like mate in 250) with 6 or less pieces on the board, since then I haven't played much chess, but am always trying to provide insight into these complicated endings, since it has been quoted, "no human could ever understand these endgames" naturally I want to contradict an NT's faulty conclusion.

I've been giving myself carpal tunnel playing Sims 3 for about sixteen hours a day. I'll be glad when this particular little obsession dies down a bit; my poor wrist will thank me, anyhow. But obsessions this strong never last that long; and Sims 3 isn't a particularly deep game. I imagine this obsession will last another half a week or so, and then I'll grab onto something else.

People with lifelong, strong obsessions are lucky. At least they can predict what their brains are going to be stuck on tomorrow.
