What you think is the best race to play as in Civ 5? Personally I like the Japanese for the Bushido ability

I just bought the game and I play Aztec right now, haven't tried any other yet though.

I always play as the Indians because I generally go for a cultural victory and I think India is fascinating. Western history is boring because it only covers a couple of centuries, but Eastern history goes WAY back!

Race?

At the moment, I play Byzantium for the new cultural victory. Mainly because I always like to build religious tourism, and the Byzantines give one extra religious building (+ tourism) per city.

I'd say my favorite race is Protoss, but jokes aside, I love the Bablyonians. A civilization that's all about being greedy for science, they not only fend off early aggression like a breeze with their exclusive Walls of Babylon but also are rewarded for being incredibly greedy with early research choices as well. Whenever I play a multiplayer match as them, my friends always get mad when I bring up the fact that they are still are incapable of making more science per turn than me, just like it was in the Ancient era, and the Medieval era, and so on. It's really funny and I always find a special satisfaction in exploiting my technological superiority. My second favorite civilization would have to be the Germans. When your on a continent with someone else that isn't militaristic and there are a lot of barbarian encampments, you can create an army and take cities almost effortlessly.

I use the Spanish as a science / exploration race.

If I'm going for cultural I use India... for military I use Germany/Viking

I haven't played much since BNW came out as I've had issues with my computer, but I remember England being my favourite civilization to play as (probably because I'm English myself and I like the ease of conquering the planet with powerful navies).
It really depends what game I want to play, if I was going for a domination victory I'd play as England with its navy and longbowman, or Germany and its ability to convert barbarians, or Austria and its ability to straight-up buy city states and incorporate them into the empire.
France was good for cultural victories (but I know victory conditions have changed drastically since BNW came out).

My favorite civilization is Denmark, and my second favorite civilization is Sweden.

I didn't see this thread before I created my other one looking for Civ 5 players to play online with.

I usually play as Greek or Romans.

If anyone wants to play online let me know. I haven't played multiplayer online yet but I'd like to with the help of someone else that can kind of show me the ropes.
