If a robot is sentient, do they have just as much right to life as humans? What if the robot was an exact replica of a human - right down to the emotions, the vulnerability, the unpredictability, ect. If a robot is physically, psychologically, and emotionally equivalent to a human, would you consider it a human? Perhaps a "manufactured" human?

An exact replica of a human is a human by definition. So I would consider them entitled to all the other rights that other humans have.
I think other sentient beings should have basically the same rights as humans as well.

It will happen. Some of us may even live to see it.

i judge a being on it's consciousness, not it's components.
soo yes a machine, alien, genetically modified super intelligent cow, they would all have the rights we give a human consciousness in my book.

I do believe so, yes. See, they can put stem cells into a printer cartridge and "print" out a heart valve or an ear. It really is that simple. I don't see why they couldn't be able to up the scale and "print" out everything a body needs; eyes, ears, a heart, a brain even...

Developing artificial humans, as in Blade Runner, would be a surer way to ensure self awareness, emotions, and vulnerabilities. The question is, would they be treated as only machinery without rights, as in the movie?
