I find that writing it down and declaring it in a public forum can help motivate you towards an accomplishment.

I'd like to expand my circle of what I do each day which I think would help me shake out of the doldrums that I've felt I've been in for a while.
I'd like to explore a new career path to determine its viability and cost.
I'd like to pick up a new hobby or learn a new language.

I could list more, but I think it's better to keep it to a manageable and limited level if you're going to have a chance for success.

I'd like to graduate from college, which I am on the track to do.

I also hope to be able to buy an engagement ring and propose to my girlfriend within a year's time.

I want to bring up my GPA, even though it's already good.

I also want to get to the point of being semi-organized.

My goal for the next year is also to graduate from university. I am due to graduate in May 2012 (a semester early thanks to all the classes I took this summer!!) with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies and International Development Studies. Goal #2 is to be accepted into grad school for a Master's in Environmental Studies.

Amen to both

I also plan on fully learning Ableton Live, how to utilize all the instruments, and start on a progressive trance / house track by years end. I've also started a 5-level course on Rosetta Stone for Spanish(Spain) which I hope to have gone through twice by years end.

My other goals are to visit 3 major cities(or at least 2) in the country and visit their amazing food mecca's, but I am on a budget so I'll probably stay to cheapeats (under $40 per food place). I've already visited all that I care to visit in Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco (there are a lot of places I have yet to visit but they are too pricey like 80+ for a #course meal per person so no) so I'm thinking it'll be LA, Boise, and somewhere in Alaska. I'll probably do this with my brother or a friend.

I'd like to remain employed full time and have a good first semester when I return to school in January. I'd also like to be living in my very own apartment by the end of this year.

To lose at least 50 lbs, so that I can really look like the young Mick Avory again like I did when I was 21. Just because I take pride in my appearance doesn't mean that I need to reevaluate myself.

Get a job, or at least go out and do something meaningful.
Anything to increase my chances of getting to the US.
Make more friends.
