Some brief synopses are available here:

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/2012-rep ... 12164311#1

Remember: sometimes the Republican candidate beats the odds and wins. No-one took Ronald Reagan seriously, and he beat Carter. George Bush Jr. wasn't thought to have a chance against Al Gore, until the Supreme Court made him president.

So, if you're just thinking in terms of nominating someone who will be easy for President Obama to beat, remember: nightmares can come true.

I'm sure that Mitt Romney has no chance of being nominated by his party, but why do you say that?

I don't really prefer any of them....I don't really prefer any of the democrats either.

I mean it really does not matter who we end up with, things are still going to continue going downhill with the economy and such.

Mitt Romney - His dad and mine knew each other, and my dad always had nice things to say about George.

Then again, my dad was an alcoholic, a bigot, and a bully...

George was a good guy he was instrumental in ending the Vietnam war.

Rick Perry's religious enthusiasm and dedication to unreason turns me off completely. If it is Obama vs. Perry next year I am boycotting the election again.

It seems everybody on the list is a religious nut.

And I mean everybody. Including Ron Paul. EdiT: Ok, not Elmer Fudd. There goes my vote.

Albeit Ron Paul would be far more progressive than O'Bama.

Just do like me and vote for the one you hate the least.......

Neither party is capable of propping up anyone worth the time of day.

I'm a Democrat, so I feel like I'm cheating by posting here, but. If I had to choose someone for Obama to run against I would choose Michele Bachmann or Ron Paul, because it seems like he would be the most likely to win against the more extreme Republicans. If I had to choose a Republican to actually be president I would choose Jon Huntsman, because he seems like the most moderate.

For now, Perry until I gather more information about all of them. I think Romney-Lieberman ticket would have been good to help de-polarize the country, but little else. Perry or Paul will probably need a more moderate running mate respected from both sides of the isle to win.

I just looked over the list again... it actually looks like the two Mormons are the least crazy ones when it comes to religion. What a world.

A Romney-Lieberman ticket would almost guarantee a far-right vote splitter. That would not depolarize the country at all.

that would be a dream ticket I would support in full

they would do things I don't like, but they would do even more things that I do like.

and there is no way in hell that Obama could beat that, even if he paired up with Hillary clinton (who holds a 60%+ approval rating, and looked uponfavorably by conservatives). His healthcare initiative, regulations of industry and trade, his inability to move in any direction on immigration unless it is favorable for his campaign for re-election, stimulus package and bailouts of corporations, putting businesses on edge about the future by not addressing the tax codes, his policies exasperating the duration of these poor economic times, and his constant need to apologize about the US to other countries, or treat our friends like shat while emoting friendly tones towards the worst of humanity makes him unattractive to the majority of Americans.

Again... there is no way in hell he'll win against Romney, especially if it is a Romney-Lieberman ticket.
