Discuss. 9/11 is a heated topic with emotional ties, but are these ties justified or not? What do you think about the event and the US's reaction to that event?

I liked the “A day of infamy……..” one and “A learning event for the US…..” but since I could only pick one and I’m a mean spirited conservative I, of course, picked the first one since it implies violence.

As for the learning event it holds considerable merit. There had been negligence in various forms for decades where terrorism is concerned. It’s a deep topic in itself and one worth reading up on.
Even the Israeli Mossad warned us that something like this was brewing months before it happened and they have been proven to be quite adept in dealing with terrorists and intel.

A day that must be avenged, and we must also learn from our mistakes. We let our intelligence gathering abilities get neglected and we crated a social atmosphere where political correctness got in the way of airport security.

Violence begets violence. Keeping a close eye on our borders and good intell is probably the best form of defense. There is the problem of having the enemy on our soil and fighting us from within, but even that can be supervised.

#2. It's just sad. Sure it's a good idea to make it a learning experience, but more importantly I think it's important for us to reflect and regain perspective. Especially when thinking about the firefighters who went into those infernos with the sole purpose of saving lives. They didn't stop and ask about who's deserving of rescue, who's too old, too lazy, too crippled. They didn't ask for medals or money. They didn't see black or white or left or right. They just knew they had a job to do. Completely selfless acts don't happen very often and we should honor them when they do. Same with the passengers on flight 93 and other civilians who stepped it up that day.

I was also rather touched to see 9/11 memorials across the globe. Even France. We're such a**holes we came up with "Freedom Fries," and still, they memorialize this event.

There is unity in loss. We'd be wise to reflect and extinguish the pettiness.

The developed world became complacent after the end of the Cold War. And 9/11 was the end result.

Explain to me how a "terrorist", who, incidentally, learned to fly on a simulator, could aim a giant passenger jet , with impeccable accuracy, so even and low to the ground, into the side of the Pentagon. Explain how several folks heard explosions near the basement of the towers after the planes hit the towers. Explain why the towers fell exactly like how buildings destroyed by controlled demolitions fall. Explain why the government refuses to release data and videos that would show how infallible the official story is. Explain why the 9/11 commission left out very important details in its dossier. Explain why the passports of the "terrorists" were found in tact yet the black boxes of all the flights were either not found or were confiscated by the FBI. Explain to me how, when you look at the crash in Pennsylvania, how there was little to no debris and no bodies. Explain to me why building seven is never mentioned and why it's destruction bears eerie similarities to a controlled demolition. Explain why Larry Silverstein obtained insurance policies for buildings 1, 2, 4 and 5 worth 3.55 billion dollars on July 2001.


There are many coincidences and inconsistencies with the official story.
