I've never cried at a funeral. I not sure if it is because:

One - I believe in an afterlife, so I don't understand why people that believe such would be upset. The one that died is either "in a better place" or "getting what they deserve." Either way, that should make you indifferent or happy.

or

Two - I don't think that I really get the "love" thing entirely.

I occasionally cried afterward, but I think that it was due to the fact I didn't know what was "wrong" with me(at that time) or that I may have been able to stop someone from doing the things that lead to their death and I was feeling guilt.

I was wondering if this was common for us.

I said yes but then I cry at anything even remotely sad.

I've never been at a funeral before, but since it's notoriously hard to make me cry at things that are known for being sentimental, I chose no. Now, if it was for one of my closest loved ones, I'd probably cry whether I was at the funeral or elsewhere.

I said no. Strong emotion goes only one of two ways for me; absolute hysterics or stone-faced silence. I just wish that people wouldn't interpret me choosing not to make a spectacle of myself as me not caring.

I can't help it. There's just something about the realization that lying there is the corpse of a person who once had dreams and aspirations; who once laughed, cried, danced and sang; who was once held, loved, and cherished; and whose story is finished that makes me weep.

I've only been to one funeral in my whole life, and I didn't really know the person who died that well. He was to do with my mum's friend, but I knew and liked my mum's friend, so I went with my mum to support her friend. I felt in a good mood that day because the driver on the bus who I have a crush on had given me sexual attention, which made my day, so I felt bad getting ready for a funeral in a good mood. But when we got there, I did cry - I couldn't help it. Tears just came out of my eyes when I saw all the flowers and my mum's friend's excessive crying made me cry even more, and when I went to give her a cuddle I burst into tears fully. OK, I better stop - my eyes are filling up with tears now.....

Please, tell me that this doesn't mean what it sounds like it means.

I've only been to one funeral - my grandfather's. I didn't cry - it just didn't seem to have anything to do with the person I knew.

I think the answer should be "sometimes".

And even if you're sure the person is in a better place, you can still cry for yourself that you won't be seeing them anymore. (Or at least until you die yourself, and maybe go to the same "place".

I've voted the same thing for the same reason.

No. I just kind of feel sick, because it reminds me that everybody is going to die.

Death makes me sad, but I don't cry on cue.

Death is a natural part of life.

In most circumstances, there is nothing to be sad about.

What's sad about death isn't death itself, but the realization of the importance of the memories brought to the surface because of it.

Yes, and I hated that.
