I have heard from many here that there are one or more aspie tests available online for self-diagnosis purposes. I already know I am an aspie, but I'm curious as to how "severe" it is, so I'd like to take such a test. However, I have been unable to locate anything like this online, even with 3 different search engines. The frustrating thing is that there's possibly one on this very site, but I can't find it. I feel like an idiot. Can anyone help?

My EQ score online was 29 and my SQ score online was 38. That puts me just about right smack in the middle of normal. EQ is a little lower than the average range but still high for an aspie. I was actually surprised that my EQ score wasn't higher because I have traditionally thought of myself as having good empathy. It's weird because I also have thought of myself as socially awkward, especially when younger, but I see them as two very different things.

After a chat with a psychologist friend of mine and a little more retrospection, I do not think I have AS. I'm still going to pursue medication for ADD and talk to an MFT, not to find out if I have AS, but just to be open-minded and see what I can learn about my issues to help me out. I definately have issues and probably am not quite fully NT. I just don't think the AS diagnosis applies, even though I have a lot of aspie traits. I guess I'll see when I talk to a professional.

Online tests probably have very limited value. I'm particularly skeptical of the main one that's scored out of 200. Earlier I knew what it was that made me question it but now I'm really tired and can't remember. I'll check it out tomorrow.

Oh, there's also the Aspie-quiz

Dalebert, I guess I'm glad you're not AS, or maybe not, not sure. I hope you find what it is you have so you can work on making your life easier, whatever it is.

Yeah, that's the one I think is probably not very good. So many of the questions seem like they could apply really broadly. Also, I think the tendency is to assign a value based on quantity of symptoms rather than on intensity. It gave me a 151 score and said I was likely aspie but I really doubt it.

I tend to think this test is better. The EQ test question is hard for me to answer one
way or the other. I think one guy looked at the source code of the test and said it was
not waying the answers in the correct way thus making people score low or high.

I had to do it manually. The automated one wasn't working. The hot links just kept taking me back and forth between two pages and never to the test page. I just printed it and took it and scored it myself.

Hmm I got a 160 on the auspie quiz so its apparently not completely wrong.. but your right its judging by the number of symptoms rather than the severity.

They could make it more accurate by expanding the range of available answers rather than the simple never/sometimes/always scheme theyre using.

On the Aspie Quiz

Your Aspie score: 143 of 200 (Which is interestingly lower than Dalebert's, despite my diagnosis)
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 58 of 200
You are very likely an Aspie

On the Test on Wired

Score: 30

I'm diagnosed, so when I put the diagnosis and the tests together, I think it's pretty safe to say that I fall into the more NTish autistic range. Had I taken this test several years ago, I would have been found to be almost purely autistic, but thanks to a Unitarian Youth Group I visited, my social skills are far better than they used to be. When I first started going to the group, I didn't talk, not because I was nonverbal, but because I was far too scared of uttering even a booleon answer to them. When pressed to answer a question, I screamed and cried, then ran out of the building. Now I chat openly with them and engage in conversation.

I remain myself. That will never change, mainly because I refuse to change it, but it's good to see that I'm getting good at things I'm not naturally good at. I started playing Goldeneye again after ages and noticed my coordination had dramatically improved. I guess my social skills have as well.

Thanks a lot for the tests! :)

Thank you for filling out this questionnaire.

Your Aspie score: 81 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 130 of 200
You are very likely neurotypical

Kind of odd even though i was officially diagnosed.
But if this test was taken before i got training in social skills etc a few years ago, it would most likely have been the other way around.

Your Aspie score: 107 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 98 of 200
You are both Aspie and neurotypical
Does it mean I'm not aspie?

Uhh I think it means your right on the border.

Your too aspie'ish to be considered NT but not aspie'ish enough to be a "true" aspie or something like that.

But yeah.. kind of confusing answer.

Accurate enough that if you get a high score you should probably seek a professional for further testing to be certain but not accurate enough to be used as criteria for diagnosis on its own.
