WARNING about politics on FaceBook

Several months ago, my friend posted a very humorous joke about the current occupant of the White House. Because his name was IN the text of the joke; all of the sudden today facebook generated a "post" SUPPOSEDLY from my friend SHARING this elected officials facebook page (the one for his re-election). My friend DID report this as an invasion of her privacy....but facebook has left the post there.

I don't care WHO you rally behind; NO ONE SHOULD BE ABLE to "quote" another person & say that they "like" or "share the page" WHEN THAT NEVER HAPPENED.

Deception at it's finest....let the blood letting///errr ELECTION begin!

I don't think it was because of the joke itself. I have heard that the Obama 2012 app on FB gives itself permission to post on your behalf. Its very sneaky stuff, but people really should pay more attention to what apps they allow to access their profile.

This happened "all of a sudden" (and not when she first posted the joke) because of some changes Facebook made about a week ago. These changes make auto-sharing of so many things a default. She (and any annoyed Facebook users) needs to go into her profile and unclick the auto-share apps that just got added. This recent change has angered a lot of Facebook users and instructions on how to de-activate the sharing are circulating rapidly. She should go to her Facebook Home page and look through posts for explicit instructions on how to do this. It is highly likely she will find them in one of her friends' posts since the circulation is so rapid.

Yikes, I just realized I didn't post this where I meant too....sorry all! ('cept looking again I see this is for things at the bottom of lakes & junk and I classify this as the "junk" part....)

Is there a "joke forum" here on wp? 'Cause if there is, I have no problem repeating the joke (it isn't foul or dirty but DEFFINITYLY offensive to weak stomachs!)
