Are people with ASD/HFA immune to racism?

I know I am. Something tells me this is common among people with ASD/HFA.

I wouldn't say immune, but I do not judge individuals unless they are purposely dressing or acting certain ways. I guess that is discernment not racism.

Wrong. I'm completely immune to racism. I view all people as the consciousness occupying the body. When you view it like this its very hard to be racist.

No one wants to admit it, but pretty much everyone gets a racist thought at some point regardless of their own racial origins. Of course this is not just a rude word to describe a person of another race, it could just be thinking 'the black bus driver' or the 'white bus driver'. It's like in your subconscious, just some people act on it and others just think, 'that's wrong go away' to the thought.

It is a VERY BIG mistake to think that "racism against whites" is somehow the same thing as, or "equivalent to", white racism against people of colour.

It is not only a very big mistake - it is a racist mistake.

Most people don't really know what racism is. The word race can be misleading. It implies that the fundamental reason to draw lines of discrimination is race and race alone. That is not true. You can be racist to anyone, even someone of your own race. To be racist is to purposefully look upon a person or group with the intention of finding faults and negatives and purposefully looking past any positives or redeeming features, and thus making your total summation of that person/group an incomplete and biased one.

And racism is very evident on this site. In fact it's tolerated and accepted, as long as the people you're being racist to cannot speak up against it. There are plenty of people who use this site almost exclusively in order to fill it's pages with their hate speech.

Sorry, but that is a rather arrogant statement.

I AM immune to it. Racism has, and never will affect me and how I think of anyone.

BUT, to answer the OP's question, NO, AS has nothing to do with immunity to racism.

I'm seeing evidence right here in this thread that AS does not equate to immunity from it.

And, to prove my own point, that I am immune to it, I will now exit this discussion, because I really don't like where it seems to be headed.
