I'll grant you Sikhism, but Buddhism, in my view, behaves more like a philosophy than a religion. It's not exactly a theistic religion as we are used to, since Buddha is regarded as a "teacher", not a god.

I am a religious atheist with my own set of prescribed beliefs, based on reasoning and empiricism, ethical code, based on teleological consequentialism mixed with something akin to Confucius's "Man of Virtue", and manners for evaluating worth based on these beliefs and ethics.

With that said, I think that one is misguided when one confuses belief in a deity (theism), and a system of doctrines, philosophy and dogmas (religion.)

I think a good friend of mine who is a buddist once told me it was both but one can whorship a teacher like a god but they don't see him as one.
