Hello, I'm a long-time lurker of these forums. I just finished a Spongebob texture pack for Minecraft, and I just remembered I have to come up with an idea by tomorrow (or Tuesday, I'm not entirely sure). Since all my ideas are infeasible for a high school freshman (I wanted to do Schrodinger's cat), I thought I'd come here for inspiration. I don't have the attention span for anything with plants, so I suppose I'd prefer some ideas from general physics. Thanks in advanced!

A couple questions for you to think about. (1) How much time do you have until you have to present something for the science fair? If you have more time you could try contacting some of the physics/applied math professors at the universities near you, explain that you have an interest in quantum mechanics, that you have a science fair and see if they can help guide you on a simple project or give you suggestions. Also, a small project with a professor could turn into a bigger project that could be entered in the big Siemens and Intel Science Fairs. (2) what type of science fair is this? Are you expected to do an actual experiment or can it be descriptive? For example, you could explain basic quantum mechanics in laymen's terms and show how it applies to important current problems, i.e. building faster cpu's, etc. It sounds like you're a bit of a programmer, you could write a program that shows the effect of quantum mechanics on a particular system. Googling can help you come up with some more ideas, but follow your interests. You may be in high school, but it doesn't prevent you from doing a neat project in your area of interest.

Well it's due on December 1st, and it has to be an experiment. I tried googling ideas, but I didn't like them, so I came here with an idea that other aspies might have ideas I would like.
