Apparently, girls with aspergers won't date guys who have aspergers?

This guy says men have an extra disadvantage in the dating game and men with disabilities have an even worse disadvantage, so much that a high percentage of men with disabilities like aspergers or paralysis will never have the chance to get married or have kids. He says women with disabilities have it just as easy as normal healthy women and can still get married and spread their genes by pro-creation. Then he goes on about women using eugenics and comparing it to adolf hitler and the holocaust.

He makes a very articulate argument when he says

1. disabled men will date disabled women

2. normal men will date disabled women

3. disabled women won't date disabled men

4. normal women won't date disabled men

He also keeps saying that women with aspergers won't ultimately date men with aspergers but men with aspergers will date women with aspergers. This is really interesting to me. I don't know why women can't seem to conceptualize this.

That's very biased and stereotypical, not everything is typically in black and white. Personally I've had interest from girls who were interested in psychology or studying the mind, they found me to be different and it sparked an interest. I have also formed friendships with a few aspie girls that have and it's nice to be able to relate on certain issues and express more on a comfortable level.

i agree with this ^^^^. i am dating a man with asperger's syndrome so these ideas in the OP doesn't really apply. i have also dated a man with myotonic muscular dystrophy. i suppose people tend to choose to date each other on a case by case basis and don't always think in terms of disabilities. in terms of AS, there just aren't enough women to go around for all of the AS men.

This man arrives by his information using a technique called "ignoring evidence which doesn't support your theory."

Let us examine closer.

I'm a female with AS and I am not opposed to dating men with AS. In fact whether or not the man has AS is irrelevant to me. We have also seen posts by women with AS who are in relationships with men with AS. And there was a 20/20 or Dateline segment about a couple with AS. Thus this man's statement on this matter is incorrect.

Men with AS probably do have less of a chance of getting married and having children than men without AS, however this is due to the nature of AS and does not hold for all disabilities. You must also keep in mind it can't be said that men with AS have less of a chance than women with AS because women with AS continue to be largely invisible to the research community. They are underdiagnosed, struggle socially and many probably spend a lot of time as shut ins.

The man's comparison to Hitler suggests he is driven by emotions and bias. A Hitler comparison is a red flag of bias for any researcher.

The problem with blanket statements like this is they can never be accurate no matter how they are used. There are disabled men who will and do date disabled women, disabled men who won't date disabled women, normal men who will and do date disabled women, normal men who won't date disabled women, disabled women who won't date disabled men, disabled women who will and do date disabled men, normal women who won't date disabled men, and normal women who will and do date disabled men.

A blanket statement cannot support an all or nothing view either way.

I can't seem to conceptualize this because I'm a woman with AS, and as I previously said, I'm not opposed to dating a man with AS. A man having AS is not a factor in whether or not I have a relationship with him.

I can't conceptualize people telling me that I won't date my boyfriend because he's on the autistic spectrum. I am involved with him, I do love him, and I am attracted to traits that are specifically associated with Asperger's.

Truthfully, I'm more likely to date people who are on the autistic spectrum or have SPD than not, just because I can relate to them more and thus get to know them better. My boyfriend's the only person I've ever been involved with and he's undiagnosed but it'd be incredibly surprising if he wasn't on the spectrum.

For every lonely man, there is a lonely woman, and statistically, a bit MORE than 1:1.

Also
did we really just compare Aspergers and paralysis?
and
a (perceived, based on lack of logic and a heavy dose of bitterness) dating bias with genocide?

That's...disgusting.

I have dated several men with AS, in fact probably 80% of the men I have dated have been on the spectrum. I dont even have a lot in common with NT men. So OP you can take your silly topic and go place it on the moon, where it belongs.

We can conceptualize made-up versions of reality just fine, that has nothing to do with believing it's anything other than angry bullsh*ttery.

You're a liar.
Or, if not, one of a handful of exceptions to a vast, over arching, anti-male rule.

^Called it!

/sarcasm

Even if they're generalizing, I think he makes a very strong articulate point about all this. There is some kind of prejudice against lower status males. Wouldn't it be more fair if lower status females were treated the same? Unfortunately it seems like lower status females still have life on a silver platter lol.

Chronos you are saying AS men shouldn't pro-create but AS women are perfectly allowed to? That doesn't sound right to me. Why should the women be above the men? That's not equality.

So if disabled women refuse to date disabled men (who are equal to them) that means there will be a huge population of men who will be alone. That seems to be the dark side of "only the best survive".

Our society should be speaking out against this.

OP, are you sure you havent been part of this board before? You seem pretty familiar with it and its members, to the point of singling Chronos out for criticism every time you encounter one of her posts. Hmmmmm..........

If I had a penny for every time I have been called an "exception" because I said I had dated AS males, or suggested that relationships have been difficult for me, then I would be rich indeed.

who are you to decide what determines a high or low status person in our society? are you seriously coming to a board full of people who have AS and calling them lower status than NT people? offensive.

women have an equally hard time finding a life partner, as evidenced by ValentineWiggin's comment above. there is an equally "huge" population of single women.

The account appears to be legit and the way to deal with this kind of thing is to approach a mod about it not a public call-out(call-outs usually lead to flame wars which leads to having to contact quite a few members for inappropriate behaviour which is something the mod team/most members would like to avoid)

He's another one of those point the finger elsewhere to justify failure victim mentality types, he would rather point the finger at women, feminism, human rights and circumstances rather than accept responsibility and critique.

That was already addressed at the first thread he posted in and he didnt respond to that part of my post.
Gee I wonder why?.
