The bottom line is this: if the person does not like you for who you really are, then it is that persons loss. Don't pretend to be someone you are'nt for anyone. Be yourself. I have AS and if the person I'm with can't deal with it, its that persons problem.

No. If they can't handle, don't appreciate, who I am, they're not right for me.
And if they think Aperger's equates to ret*d, and that ret*d is a term of insult, they are well out of the reckoning as an intelligent human being, never mind as a potential mate.


I'm not going to wear an Armani suit

(Now if someone who liked me without the suit would be made happier if I did,
I probably would, from time to time. There's the difference)

i totally agree. but that doesnt make it less of an issue. im very socially insecure and selfnegative, i dont care thats just me, and people that would judge me for it i wouldnt wanna know anyway, but this doesnt make me less ashamed and sorry for the other person whenever im asking "you still like me?8O" all the time.

I don't want to cure my Autism, because that would be destroying who I am.
Besides, if I like a girl, she probably won't think I'm a ret*d: She may think I'm weird (in a good way if she likes me back or in a bad way if I don't.), but she won't think I'm a ret*d. Being an aspie, I just don't come across as ret*d: I come across as smart, sometimes accidentally.
I think anyone who wants to change who they are that drastically (I'm somehow reminded of Michael Jackson and his plastic surgery by the OP's statement) has some serious self-esteem issues.
