Hello, I have been lurking this forum on and off for the past few years. A couple months ago, I finally decided to sign up, though I still haven't posted anything until now. I recently had a psychiatric evaluation done for Vocational Rehabilitation in the past month and was diagnosed with Asperger's (had a childhood diagnosis of Autism) and became eligible for Vocational Rehabilitation. I currently live with my mother (my parents are divorced) and long to get out on my own. I have been finding it more and more frustrating to deal with my mother in the past year and have thought numerous times of leaving even though I have no clue where I would go or what I would do. I have a worthless liberal arts degree that I wish I never gotten because I never questioned going to college and realized I had the option of not going despite my mother wanting to do that but still have to deal with this (especially with all the student loan debt piled up). Most of my social interaction seems to be on the internet nowadays. That's all I can think of for an introduction. I realize it's all negative because I feel I'm at a down point in my life right now. The one positive thing I have going is I'm getting help with seeking employment (and hopefully help with transitioning to independent living) through Vocational Rehabilitation so I'm thankful for that. If I can get move out of here soon, I'll be even more thankful for that.

Hello, Cathylynn. Thanks for your welcome. I have a BA in English. The thing is I've been out of college since 2007 and haven't been able to get ONE full-time job. I went to a technical college for a while for medical coding, except I found myself too overwhelmed with doing such a thing for a living and don't care to do it. Also, I am lost with what exactly I want to do for a job. I'm taking a career exploration test in a couple weeks for Vocational Rehabilitation, and then I'm going to meet with the counselor there to discuss the results and make a plan for me then. Also, I live in the United States with the recession happening and I have received more e-mails with "sorry but we decided to pursue more qualified candidates" than I ever cared to.

Thanks for the compliment. :) I have been complimented on my writing before. I can usually express myself loads better in written form than verbal form. I have had a couple friends I've met online suggest I should start up a blog but I never do it. My hobbies nowadays involve writing (mostly essay writing -- I used to do more creative writing but haven't in a while. Also, I haven't written anything for the fun of it for the past several months), watching cartoons (I got my username for this site from a cartoon called Regular Show), video games (though there's mostly been only one video game I've been playing in the past two years because of the multiplayer aspects of it), reading (though video games have been cutting into my reading time in the past year or so), and I enjoy going for walks (I aim for 90 minutes a day. It's been a great help with me losing weight). The thing with my writing is despite being able to write well, I am very deliberate with it. I remember taking 10 times longer to write a paper than it took most people to write back in college (or at least those I asked). I remember I did a freelance writing job once (this was the summer before my last semester of college) and did a terrible job at it (I got paid 50 bucks for it though despite that) so it has made me doubt writing anything for a living. I should also mention I don't care to teach. I tried tutoring for a while and also don't care for it.
