Gary is a good man tho and I wish would run for senate in New Mexico where he'd be the favorite. If Ron Paul doesn't win the GOP nomination tho and Gary runs as the Libertarian candidate, as he is being rumored to be considering, I would probably vote for him.
It is pretty much a joke that he hasn't been invited to most of the debates when they invite guys like Huntsman and Santorum who also poll >1%. Fox News seemingly invited Gary that one time just to try to get him to attack Ron Paul but he didn't take that bait.
I'm not necessarily a fan of fair tax either. I believe that everyone of every class should be taxed the same percentage of their income, say 15% or 20% (I think that is flat tax). But I still agree with Johnson and Paul more than the other candidates. The last thing we need is one more president who is a neocon.
Yea, FairTax is a specific plan that involves a national sales tax with a monthly "prebate" check from the government to offset the regression nature of the tax. The prebates would essentially be welfare and would mean a huge increase in the size of government and be a mega-huge new entitlement. We'd be better off just with the progressive income tax that we have now than going down that road imo. Flat tax is usually just a flat income tax such as the 20% one Rick Perry is pushing AFAIK.
