I can remember every single birthday date I'm told. No matter if it's from friends, family, or even celebs. My memory for dates is prodigious and I can even recall precise dates when someone told me a particular thing or when I did something and so on and on and on. However, on other issues, my memory can be pretty average. I need to study for my tests just as NTs do. Is it common to have such a brilliant memory for just one particular thing in aspies?

My short term memory is not good but I remember birthdays and special events and phone numbers and can remember the 26 digit access key to my wifi router-sometimes a blessing sometimes a curse-while I can remember peoples birthday no one seems to remember mine.

I am good at remembering the birthdays of my close ones. I tend to forget other people's, though.

Seems like I'm the opposite of you four. I can not remember ANYone's birthday date, except those of myself, my parents, and my sister. However, I always forget the birthdays of everyone else. I can never remember my friend's birthdays, even my closest friends. I can't remember. I never know if my friend is having a birthday before someone points it out.

I'm the one person who never sends birthday cards on time! I have got ADHD as well as AS (and Tourettes!) so it can make me really scatty brained! Quite often I go to town to buy a card, forget, go to the library or something, go home then bang my head and shout a loud curse word when I remember!

I remember huge numbers of birthdays. Since I have access to a database with that information at work, I even remember the birthdays of my clients. I remember a lot of birthdays of historical figures and famous people. I get slightly annoyed when I read about a historical figure, and they're too[/i] historical to have an accurately recorded birthday for me to remember

I can remember the precise moment I first used or acquired an object, but cannot focus on humans enough to commit the birthdays to memory in the first place. Likewise, I can't remember who I had what conversations with.

I can see multiple ways to interpret the question:

"Do you remember birth dates of people in a list-like manner?" -- No. I think I was in middle school when I finally nailed down the months+days for my parents & brother. I couldn't tell you the year my mother was born if you put a gun to my head, and would have to qualify my dad's year with +/- 1

"Do you remember to send cards and contact them on their birthdays?" -- Not even close. Even when I set calendar alarms with reminders and early warnings, I forget. If a calendar warning goes off, and anything distracts me between seeing it and making the phone call, I'll forget about it. I think this is the nasty multiplicative product of aspergers x ADD at work... ADD distraction multiplied by Aspie indifference.

I can remember the birth dates of people I haven't seen for years. I can also remember phone numbers and bank/credit card details.
I have a diagnosis of ADHD and have some AS traits.

Nope. I can't remember dates and phone numbers. Most numbers and non-meaningful alphanumeric strings like license plates were always a problem for me. I can only remember some numbers through daily repetition, I literally remember two phone numbers and some IP addresses at work.

I too can remember most people's b dates.

But sometimes, the less friends they are, the less I remember them. For example, I remember people's month and year but not the day (acquaintances) but people close to me, I remember their full birth dates.

If someone verbally tells me their birth date, usually I don't remember.

If I see it written down, I remember.

I remember everybody's birthdate, even my friends from kindergarten who told me when their birthdays were (and I haven't seen some of them in almost 40 years). That doesn't always mean I get birthday cards out on time...I have ADHD too and even though it's in my mind I get distracted, and OH SH!T there goes the birthday card until the next time I remember.
