I take a word, dissociate it from its meaning, and then either repeat it over and over until it no longer sounds like a language I understand, or I look at it until it's like I'm seeing it for the first time, and I don't recognize any of the letters, and it's like alien hieroglyphics or random squiggles.

It's more entertaining than it sounds, trust me.

I don't play a game like that, but words usually sound weird to me once I start focusing on them too much, if that makes sense.

Yes, I did that when I was little, and sometimes still do.

I sometimes do that, to funny sounding words, or words I'm trying to spell correctly. And when it's become completely meaningless through repetition, I'll say it several different ways, puttling the emPHASis on the wrong sylABles.

I did this with the name of a friend I had once.

'Scott'

The name just lost all meaning and actually became rather funny.

This happens randomly to me all the time.

Are you telling me you do this on PURPOSE? 8O
