Why are they so painful? Why do I keep dwelling on them? Why cant I forgive myself for not taking action. I had so many chances.... ughhhhh

ditto that

you can't take them all I guess, sort of have to choose which ones are best. Don't take it hard. When you think about it every decision we make is taking an opportunity, and discarding many others. So it makes sense that you would notice the missed ones, there are just so many more of them :)

BTW - do you think that smiley looks evil or is it just me?

Keep staring at the closed doors behind you, and you'll miss the ones that open up right in front of you.

It's hard sometimes to come to terms with our own perceived failures. The trick isn't to forgive yourself, though, but to analyze the situations and see what you can learn from them so you can (hopefully) not make the same mistakes in the future. Because, that's what missed opportunities are. Mistakes. We all make them, most of us have a fair bit of guilt when we realize it as well.
