Have you ever been stalked?

I don't mean someone following posts on a forum, but someone in person harassing you, following you, finding online information on you... etc.

Anyone can find out online information about someone - I do it all the time. I dunno why, it's just curiousity. It's not like I'm going to go to their house or follow them in person.

I've had a few overly-persistent "admirers" but I was lucky that I figured out how to sour the milk for them, and quickly.

Seriously, MXH. I don't know you personally, and you're much too young for me, but the way you look at the camera in your pictures is completely puddle-inducing (the good kind of puddle).

I had some guy keep calling me. He'd stay on the line so nobody else could get through. Later on I heard this rumour at school that he was going to beat me up, then when I became friends with him again (stupid me) he tried to shut my hand in a car door.

Yes, I've worked some jobs in very "hip" coffeeshops and restaurants. Sucks when you're trapped at work and can't leave, and they know your schedule. Would have people show up all the time only when I was working, try to "tag along" with me after shift. I have hard time asserting my boundaries, so just couldn't shake them when it happened.

Once had a person give me a copy of "the unbearable lightness of being" at work, trying to get me to "liberate" myself and cheat on my partner. Would show up at my apartment uninvited, etc. Never got the "creepy breather" phone calls though.

Once had a punitive anti-stalker who was getting revenge on me for not sleeping with them. Would tell everyone that we'd had an affair (wasn't true) and would try to kiss me and touch me when I was in public with my (very jealous) partner. Not good times. Not only as I being sexually assaulted by anti-stalker, but was getting load of abuse from partner who believed every word of the fake affair.
