What does it actually mean to "know" a person? I mean, you can know a fact, but how is it possible to know a human being? The way I see it, people are almost infinitely complex.
Historically, I haven't had many friends other than my family. When it comes to my parents and siblings, I sometimes know things about them that even they haven't fully accepted.
Do you "know" someone when you've come to associate their face with a particular place?
Do you "know" someone when you can reliably remember their face and call them by name?
Is it when you know some basic information about their life?
When you're good friends?
When you're best friends?
