It makes no sense at all. I don't have it myself but some of my friends do. Things aren't even in the right order and it's way to confuzing to understand. PLUS people get to see all the things you said when you were stupid and younger much more easily than before. Plus, for some reason I keep getting 'poked' by people I never even friended (Some middle eastern dude. I know loads of Middle Eastern people in real life but this guy....I have NO idea who he is) If I get timeline wouldn't it be easier for stalkers to find out more about me? Especially that guy because apparently he has enough access to me to poke me. And I have some HARDCORE privacy settings on my facebook!! !! !

Note: i'm not one of those people who add people just to get a high amount of people. All my family and friends equal about a hundred people, all of them I know in real life.

I totally love it! :P

You mention having HARDCORE Privacy Settings. No problem, although you have to check to make sure your settings weren't change automatically ( the reason I can see my EX GF's post) Good luck !

I joined FB on a whim back in 2k7, and didn't really do anything with it, then quit it in 2k9. I see absolutely no point in using it, and if you are being harrassed on it, then maybe you should consider deleting your account.

I don't have any social network accounts of ANY kind. The world has no business butting into my personal life, and I have no truly great accomplishments to share with the world. Any one I want to keep in touch with I either email, or talk to on the phone. Because of this I never have to worry about social network issues. When I get spam mails, or malware mails, I block or filter them out.

This attitude works with addictive substances, too. I don't do 'em, so I don't have the problems that come with 'em. And ya know what? I don't miss the drugs, booze, gambling, etc., that I never did, one bit! I don't miss the social network sites I never signed up with, either! :-D I have plenty of stuff to keep me occupied without all of those other things.

If you don't want social network problems, just delete any accounts you have. Do send a note to any real friends and relatives who had been keeping in touch with you that way, though, and give them an email address they can use to reach you.

Remember, we on the spectrum are all:

A Different Drummer

If a man does not keep pace with his companions,
Perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer.
Let him step to the music which he hears,
However measured or far away.

--Henry David Thoreau

timeline doesn't really change a thing, its the only improvement they've actually made. i expected some horrible bebo clone, but they did it differently.
timeline isn't suitable for everyone, but for people like me who utilise the advanced privacy controls you have access too, it's fine :)

I think it's pretty. It does get a little confusing, but over all, I like it.

The thing that bothers me about Facebook right now is that you seemingly cannot hide your profile anymore. I have maximum privacy settings on, and people can still see my network, profile picture and all my interests and general info. What the f**k?

Like most similar changes I'll probably end up not liking it to begin with (like when people I know change their hairstyle) and then get used to it and be more able to appreciate the positives about it.

I recently got rid of my old Facebook (deleted a whole bunch of friends who were part of my life that I want to move on from and then realised I hadn't blocked them so they could all see I deleted them... cue panic) and started a new one up and put absolutely no info about myself on, it's simply a way for me to stay in touch with a few people who prefer to use Facebook over other things. I have about ten friends and no personal info, so it shouldn't bother me either way when it all changes over as I only ever log in when I get an email notification. Although that bloody thing they send out saying "You have notifications pending" when you haven't logged in for about ten minutes these days is annoying.

Yeah yeah, in a few days you won't even remember the time when there was no timeline. This is why they can get away with it - there's lots of complaints at first, but it doesn't take a long time for people to stop caring.

Now, if you really do want to stop using Facebook this time, actually do it, and get all your friends to do it, and start using Google+ because it's a better social network and it irritates me that no one's on it.
