I like Isabelle's cackly kind of laugh. I wish I laughed like that: it's whimsical and heartwarming ^_^

I liked that the movie was filmed - and took place in - the Spokane, Washington area where I live.
Personally, though, I thought the only characters who legitimately had Asperger's, and not lower functional forms of autism, were Josh Hartnet's character, Isabelle, and the guy who had wanted to date her early on in the film.

I didn't like the film. It was about autism, rather than being about people who happen to be autistic.

I'm watching it again. Films like these that pertain to Autism make me feel good about who I am... and I like that ^_^

If you liked it that's cool. I quite liked the boy-meets-girl story, I'm a sucker for those. I didn't like how Josh Hartnett's narration was meant to explain Aspergers to the viewers rather than show the character's unique perspective.

You think so? At any rate, thanks are in order for your sharing your personal view. The way I see it, however, Donald (Hartnett) was most definitely conveying his own personal fascination with numbers, and I don't believe the writers could ever have scripted a quick summary of Autism Spectrum Disorders; the colourful and unique group of people found in Donald's support group is a testament to that.

The movie was filmed in Spokane, Washington, and was taking place in said city. Spokane street names are mentioned, and scenes were filmed at various places in Spokane, such as the Spokane Opera house. I live in neighboring Spokane Valley, so I'm very familiar with the sites shown in the movie.

Kraichgauer, you are very lucky to live so close to the filming location of the movie - I admit I'm a little bit envious - but I was referring more to your second statement, wherein you suggested that only Donald, Isabelle and Gregory have Autism Spectrum Disorders. Why do you think this is so?

I think you misunderstood - I said I thought they were the only three with Asperger's, while the other members of the Asperger's group had lower functioning forms of autism. They just seemed much less communicative and more inhibited by their autistic disorders.

Oh, well I certainly did! You are right about that; everybody else seemed to be in their own seperate worlds.

That's my favorite movie about Asperger's. I've tried to watch all of them, xd.

I'd really like to check out other movies of its kind, if you have any you'd like to recommend

I strongly recommmend Punch Drunk Love. It isn't explicitly about Aspergers but I related to it A LOT.

A Serious Man has a secondary character who obviously has Asperger's.
