Hey! I wanted to share this with my friends on WP. This is a guest post I wrote the other day for Forbes Magazine. It is called "The Good it Also Brought Me: Growing Up With Undiagnosed Autism."

Hope you guys enjoy it...

Many readers have asked me if this story was embellished much. Actually, it was toned down quite a bit. I didn't feel it was necessary to include every disturbing detail.

I realize it may be a bit shocking even as it is, but I truly feel that it is important to present an accurate picture of the devastation that can result when autistics like me fall through the cracks and are not given proper access to services, support, and understanding.

Always the poster boy for medications, autism counselling and Autism Speaks......

So when we are doped up to the eyeballs, watching Autistic Superstars and Beauty and the Geek on TV, paying $$$$$$$$$$$ for meds and therapy

we have got the understandings?

I think I understand

I'm sorry, but I have no idea what you are talking about. The Forbes piece does not endorse medication, counseling, or Autism Speaks. I endorse and oppose all those things, depending on the situation.

Perhaps you could clarify what you are getting at here. Either that or you should reread the article.

Good article. Could make a much better movie than Rain Man.

Would you mind providing some context for this statement please?
