Thought I would just say hello, which seems to be the done thing.
I am English, female, and in my 40's. I'm an artist and a web content developer.
I had never heard of Aspergers until a year ago, when my daughter, who works as a care support worker for people with autism, rang me up and said she had been to a talk given by a woman whose daughter had Aspergers. "It made you make sense to me." she said!
So, reams of internet hours and research and taking the AS and EQ tests followed and I guess I agree with her. Aspergers makes me make sense to myself!
I had grown up being told, and thinking, that I was mad. So nice to discover that it might just be the way my brain in wired!
I am still waiting for a formal diagnosis, but getting one on the NHS seems to be an spectacularly difficult thing to do - Sisyphus had it easy in comparison.
Anyway Hi, hello, and thanks for being here folks, Wrong Planet is a place where I feel good about myself - and that is rare.
